Microchipping
Microchipping at our Highfields practice is a very safe procedure involving the insertion of a small chip, approximately the size of a grain of rice, into the back of your pet’s neck. With a specialised scanner, a vet can identify a pet that has been brought into the clinic, and it can be happily reunited with their human.
Making sure microchip details are up to date
Microchip details aren’t much use if the phone number is longer in use or you’ve moved house! So each time your contact details change, make sure you update them on the microchip register.
If you know your pet’s microchip number, click here to find out which register their details are on, or visit us today so we can scan your pet’s microchip and point you in the right direction.
If your pet is lost, they can’t phone home. However, if your pet is microchipped (and the details are up to date) then someone else might be able to phone home for them!
